Important Message from the Warhawk Shuttle Service Released

UWW-TV is publishing a memo it received from the Warhawk Shuttle Service in its unedited form to the public.  It reads:

Campus Community,

The Warhawk Shuttle is operating in Fall 2020 to serve students, faculty, and staff that need a ride between the Whitewater and Rock County campuses with service to the Van Galder bus terminal for regional bus connections.  This year we have a few changes, including a reservation system, new schedule, COVID-19 precautions for passengers, and a new pickup location on the Whitewater campus.

The reservation system will help ensure students, faculty, and staff that need a ride can still get one while we ensure safety through social distancing.  Rides will need to be reserved a week in advance.  New rides for the following week will be available by noon on Friday at the latest.  Reservations can only be made a week at a time, so pay close attention to the dates when reserving.

The new schedule is posted on the Warhawk Shuttle Services webpage and includes times better aligned with the Rock County campus class schedules, additional afternoon times, and reduced evening times.

The Whitewater pickup location is no longer at the Visitor Center.  The new location is along Main Street near Andersen Library, right in front of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater sign on Wyman Mall.  This change was made to facilitate larger buses, which we will use to help maintain social distancing without reducing our overall capacity.

Several policies are now in place to address the COVID-19 pandemic.  These include:

• No Face Covering, No Ride (unless an exemption is provided by Center for Students with Disabilities or Human Resources and Diversity)
• Board vehicle back to front
• Sit alone and alternate seating
• Only board vehicle after instructed by driver
• Dress for the outdoor weather with windows open to increase ventilation
