President Ray Cross Announces Retirement

After 42 years President of the UW system Ray Cross has decided that it was time to retire. Cross has been involved with the UW system for eleven years and said that working there was a privilege to work with colleagues who are dedicated and outstanding in sharing a mission to ” improve the human condition, and to “search for truth” through education, research and service. The UW system is doing just that by preparing each of the graduates to not only succeed in the world but as Cross says, “thrive in the world of continual change and boundless opportunity. He also mentions that there is not better time to be in the UW system as they are engaged to better the needs of the state. Cross will remain the president until a successor has been identified.
