UW-Whitewater Masking and Testing Update Effective August 16, 2021

To best protect our university community, UW-Whitewater issued updates to our COVID-19 operational practices, effective Monday, Aug. 16:

1. A Chancellor’s Order reiterates the requirement for unvaccinated students, faculty and staff to be tested twice upon return to campus and provides consequences for not complying.
2. Everyone at the university is expected to wear masks indoors — regardless of vaccination status — until further notice.
3. All students, faculty and staff — regardless of vaccination status — who are returning in person to either the Whitewater campus or Rock County campus should get tested for COVID-19 at least 10 days before their projected return.

If you test positive, follow the quarantine/isolation recommendations of your local health department before returning to campus, and report your status to the COVID-19 Hotline at 262-472-1362 or covid19info@uww.edu.

If you test negative, you can return as normal. Remember that unvaccinated individuals are still required to test twice upon their return.
