About Us

Since its inception in 1980, UWW-TV (UW-Whitewater’s campus cable television station) has been an important part of the campus and community, providing news, sports and educational programming produced entirely by students.  UWW-TV is part of the campus cable line-up, channel 100.1, and is part of the Spectrum cable line-up in the city of Whitewater and outlying areas on digital channel 989, reaching over 100,000 households in southern and southeastern Wisconsin.

UWW-TV students operate cameras from the rooftop of UWW’s Perkins Stadium.

Students who major in Electronic Media and Broadcast/Print/Web Journalism are able to learn and engage in a great work experience by participating a number of  opportunities at UWW-TV, including news anchoring, investigative reporting, sports announcing, as well as television producing and directing.  Students who have a true passion for this field can also obtain employment as a UWW-TV student technician.  UWW-TV is the perfect venue for students who wish to compliment a quality education with a four-year experience in video production, news gathering and announcing.
