On Tuesday, February 23rd, the UW-Whitewater Women’s Basketball team heads into the first round of the WIAC tournament. The Warhawks welcome the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds to Kachel Gymnasium. LIVE coverage of the game begins at 6:45pm CDT. with Warhawks Sports Wednesday.
With their 18th straight appearance in the WIAC tournament, the Warhawks end their regular season 19-6 overall and 8-6 in conference being ranked 4th overall in the league standings. Although UW-Eau Claire leads the overall series 49-34, the Warhawks have won seven of their last ten meetings.
The Blugolds enter the post-season 13-12 overall and 8-6 in conference winning four of their last five games and being ranked 5th overall in the league standings. Although the Blugolds have the same conference record as the Warhawks, the Warhawks earned the tiebreaker with more wins over higher ranked teams.
