Make sure to stay tuned to UWW-TV this Friday, February 24th, for the WIAC Semifinal match-up between the UW-Whitewater Warhawks Women’s Basketball team and the UW-La Crosse Eagles beginning at 6:30pm CDT. with a special Friday edition of Warhawk Sports Saturday. Tip-off will begin shorty after at 7:00pm CDT.
The Warhawks enter the postseason tournament at 20-5 overall and earned the No 2. seed in the WIAC Tournament. Whitewater met up with the Eagles earlier in the season defeating them twice, once with a 65-62 victory, and again with a 67-53 victory. UW-Whitewater has won the last 11 games between the two teams and should make for an exciting match-up tomorrow night.
The UW-La Crosse Eagles are coming in 16-10 overall and are the No. 4 seed for the Tournament. The Eagles put up a 69-57 victory over the 5th seed, UW-Eau Claire to advance to the semifinal round of the WIAC Tournament. The winner of Fridays match will advance to the WIAC Championship, which is scheduled for this Sunday and will be hosted by the highest remaining seed in the tournament.
