The Whitewater City Council voted unanimously this past Tuesday, July 21, to require masks in buildings that are open to the public to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Starting Saturday, Aug. 1, anyone who is age 5 or older in the city must wear an intact face covering when in an area of a building that is open to the public; this rule further applies when anyone is in line, be it indoors or outdoors for pick-up orders of food, drinks or goods. The ordinance is effective until the end of the year unless the council decides to terminate it earlier.
