Over/Under by Cole McCormack

A man is visited by his future self who reveals that he’s destitute in the future but offers a chance to change their fortunes by using future knowledge to bet on sports. They start collaborating, jotting down predictions when suddenly, a cybernetic time cop known as Temporal Enforcer 1138 from the Temporal Regulation Bureau appears. A fierce battle ensues between the future self and the time cop. Despite a valiant effort, the future self is fatally wounded, leaving the present self with the written bets. However, as the present self places each bet, all predictions fail miserably, and he remains impoverished. Frustrated and desperate, the now future self decides to travel back to rectify his other future self’s mistakes, only to discover that time itself conspires against such manipulations. It’s a loop, ensuring he can never alter his fate for personal gain, trapped in an eternal cycle of futile attempts to rewrite his future.
